You tell it like it is, Kenny, and have a way of seeing to the heart of things.
What do you think drives the whole show? Is it the perennial hope that one day one of the them will come up with a system that actually makes sense and -- more important -- makes money? Or is it something in the peculiar nature of a personality cult that draws them together, something akin to demagoguery? The definition of the latter seems to hint at it: appealing to emotion and prejudice to win over people and gain power. (That's only my view of it, of course. On the inside, they have their own view, and newbies are entitled to attempt to join up and see for themselves.)
You'd think that after all that's occurred, something would have been gained, in their knowledge of trading and their ethical sense. But still, PTATR is ballyhooed, and the clan's seemingly as tightknit (and, to my view, unprincipled) as ever. You'd think they would have struck off in search of new gurus, but that doesn't appear to be the case. |
