patricia, well, by now you have discovered that you have a few responses to your shutdown prob. i sincerely hope that we are helping you here. but just in case what we have provided so far does not cure your pc's shutdown ills, take a look at this granddaddy of all shutdown sites that i just found tonight in a fred langa newsletter! aumha.org fred langa notes that the site needs updating on one link.... "A few of the links on the site need updating, however. For example, the links to Microsoft's useful Win98 Power Management Troubleshooter (Pmtshoot.exe) are bad. The correct link is support.microsoft.com " please get back to us and let us know what worked for you so we can put an asterisk next to that method for next time. <g3> good luck :) mark
