You can't set your watch by it, but it's a decent barometer of the long-term trend. That's consistent with my view of the relevance of demographic data - good for the "big picture", but don't try to day trade with it. <gg> Going forward Roughly consistent with with Dent although your 2006 prediction is quite interesting. birth data on the post-Civil War to 1908 period. Wish I could help, but I can't. I do suggest you also consider immigration data for immigration was massive in part of that period. Thanks again. lurqer
