ESI Environmental Sensors Inc. - 40 Flo*Point(TM) Systems to go into Oil and Gas Market
Victoria, British Columbia - Monday, January 29, 2001, 10:00 AM EST
ESI Environmental Sensors Inc. (ESI, "The Company") is pleased to announce that manufacturing is well underway for the first production units of the Flo*Point(TM) Water Cut Sensor. Ten units will be shipped and installed by Barber Engineering and Controls Ltd., the company's Distributor, in early February, and a further 30 units will be progressively shipped over the following weeks. The Company also recently completed a series of rigorous industrial quality assurance certification tests for both its manufacturing facilities and for the first Flo*Point(TM) product. Details of these will be announced shortly.
Flo*Point(TM)'s major customer benefit is revenue enhancement. It assesses the percentage of water content in oil, on a real-time basis, in multiple oil production applications including primary and secondary recovery and can eliminate water cut sampling. Flo*Point's single unit, no-moving-parts construction is versatile and provides immediate monitoring on pumping oil wells. Flo*Point(TM) addresses the limitations of alternative technologies for measuring water in oil. In differing degrees, they are expensive, inaccurate, difficult to install, or required constant adjustments. Flo*Point(TM) will be available in a range of pipe sizes and pressure ratings to suit the varying needs of the oil industry.
"We are very excited to hear that we will be receiving production units for many of our clients in the oil industry who have been waiting for the introduction of this exciting new technology. The Flo*Point(TM) design is outstanding, simple to install, and our evaluations have proven its capability." Said Peter Barber, Vice President of Marketing for Barber Engineering and Controls Ltd.
