That not everyone is of the religious right and interested in having a theocracy. In fact, I even know some religious folks who are not interested in having their religion rolled into the state.

While I have this nagging concern about the theocracy thing, I don't think that would ever really happen. There are just too many sensible people, both religious and non. The sensible subset of religious people would, IMO, say "enough" before we ended up governed by the Christian version of an ayatollah. We could, though, slide quite a way down that slippery slope before the sensible folks wake up.

The Nature Conservancy will get my estate. I may have mentioned that before. I hope they can buy something really neat with it.

P.S. When your post popped up on my screen, I had the TV on in the background playing a recent recording of JAG. The actress who played Miss Parker, Andrea Parker, had a role as a JAG officer. Thought of you.

P.P.S. I hope you don't mind my appropriating your "invisible friend" image. I find it strikingly apt.
