Without those regulations you would have drugs come to market that would endanger the human race. Thank God for the FDA cause without it you would have corporate fraud that would be second to none.

The high cost of research comes from many different areas. Plastics alone are very expensive and are used extensively in research. A great deal of expensive machinery has to be maintained and calibrated on a regular basis. The educated and highly skilled people who work in research don't work cheaply...........just to name a few expensive aspects of the medical research field. The FDA is only one expensive part of the picture......there is no simple, singular reason to blame for the high costs.
