I can't provide a link- this was in part of a DJ or WSJ article over the weekend. Lindsey said the resources made available by the federal government - such as power released from hydroelectric plants in Arizona - will be exhausted at the end of the two-week period. "It isn't that we can just simply order electricity to California. For example, (at) Grand Coulee Dam we won't be able to generate any electricity in two weeks because we've pumped so much water through," Lindsey explained, adding that "we're running out of water in Arizona." "People aren't going to be growing crops in Arizona this summer. They have shut down paper mills in Oregon, they shut down aluminum smelters in the Pacific Northwest, all to accommodate this sending of power to California," he said. Lindsey said that after the two-week period of federal help expires, California "should expect no more help from the White House." "It isn't that we don't want to give the electricity, it's that we're giving them electricity now that will have huge economic and ecological repercussions down the road," he said.
