As I understand the situation there was a three year lease with an option to buy. There is nothing illegal or for that matter unusual about the arrangement. The real question is was the deal done at market value. The fact that the real estate has increased greatly in value since the transfer, is not unusual. Since Reagan left office all of our homes have appreciated in dollars.

The interesting thing about this thread is the dems excuse everything the Reps do and vice versa. I repeat unless the deal was done for less than fair value, there was no gift.

I do not know the details to express an opinion on the issue of whether the purchase was done at fair value.
