here is this jhg guy you used to argue with. I am back. I had some major problems at work I had to deal with and no time to post on web. Well, well, I see you mirable dictu, now tout Dell as a Buffett stock and not even a tech stock but a manufacturer/distributor of great efficiency. My, my. I am glad my enthusiasm of 2 years ago registered in your mind.
But now I wonder if Dell can continue its growth, let alone hypergrowth. I think it's glory days are over with. What is your case for buying it now?(leaving aside what we discussed in the past about its business model)
My current enthusiasms are EMC, CIEN, JDSU, and as a cigar butt, YHOO. I think QCOM is a value stock, too, now, I rode it from 70 to 185 in 1999, and just bought some today at 85 or so.
I must post more sparingly these days due to time constraints and also after the beating I took in 2000, I am saying less and listening more.
My portfolio was down 70 per cent from its March high, and now I am up 60 per cent from the bottom in early Jan, but there is a long haul back. Only the hardiest survivors are still in my portfolio, the stocks I mentioned above. Good luck and good to talk to you again. PS I AGREE DEVELOPING THE PATIENCE IS THE HARDEST PART. jhg |
