Use of Alcatel LMDS to address underserved markets impresses jury of industry leaders
Paris, January 29, 2001 - The Wireless Communications Association (WCA) has
recognized Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) and its American customer, Prime
Companies, Inc. for their success in bridging the digital divide by extending access to
commercial broadband services to underserved communities in the US using broadband
wireless technology. Honored at a recent ceremony, Broadband Fixed Wireless Access
Technical Award recipients were selected by a jury of leading carriers and engineering
companies within WCA, the primary trade association for the fixed wireless broadband
industry.
