I saw where Compaq estimates that demand outstrips supply by 25 to 1. Remember that Intel fell into the StrongArm chip and didn't know what to do with it for several years. So yes, Intel does get lucky every now and then. But you also have to realize that a SA1110 sells for $20-$25 a piece, it's not a high margin item. Ok, the iPaq does use Intel flash (blehhh!), and because of supply problems most (if not all) units come with 32 meg of flash instead of 16.

AMD does need to come out with a processor in this class, however. Needs to be an ARM core, however. Love the ARM, trust the ARM, the ARM is your friend...

They can have my iPaq when they pry my cold dead fingers from it.
