PCCW to Bid for 3G License in Singapore: SCMP quamnet.com Jan 30, 2001 - 08:59:45 HKT Quamnet News Service Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (0008), Richard Li's Internet and telecoms company, will bid for a third-generation mobile phone network license in Hong Kong and also consider bidding for another in Singapore, the South China Morning Post reported, citing chairman Richard Li. "We will be competing in the 3G auction in Hong Kong. Singapore is such an important market for the region that we cannot afford not to consider bidding for a license there." Li was quoted as saying. The Singapore government plans to award four 3G licenses at a minimum bid of S$150 million (about HK$668.5 million), the paper said.
