If you really want to help a rookie drinker make it to the pro leagues, seems to me you have to consider what type of drinker he is. If he drinks to get blitzed, then drinking in the morning to make the hangover go away will only get him blitzed in the morning, not a good thing, in my opinion. Drinking in the morning is for the type of drinker who stays mildly looped all day and all night, a maintenance drinker.

A blitz drinker once let me onto the secret of getting blitzed without a bad hangover - when the drink stops smelling good, stop drinking. Worked for me. Lot of fluids. Strong coffee in the morning. The Russians swear by saunas, sweats out the poisons, and we all know about the Russians and vodka. And then of course a lot depends on what you drink. Pro drinkers don't drink brown liquors like bourbon or whiskey, they drink gin or vodka. Fewer congeners, less hangover. Red wine causes deathly hangovers. It's hard to get a hangover on just beer. Stuff like that. If you're going to teach the boy, teach him right. -g-

Don't mind me, I'm on the wagon, and being a spoilsport. -g-
