Probably I misunderstood

I'm going to have to stop staying up late to post. My judgment about whether I'm making sense or not goes awry. Plus I wake up with a headache that worsens when I find out that I didn't communicate what I intended.

What I said was: "It's hard to feel like you're rewarding bad behavior but more
income and more interaction with the rest of the world will do more
good than harm. This is not the same as boycotting fur coats."

And now for what I meant by that. No, I'll start with what I didn't mean. I didn't mean to make a statement about the horror of cruelty to humans relative to cruelty to animals. I was speaking to the effectiveness of the boycott as a strategy. Boycotting fur coats means that the bad guys will sell fewer of them so fewer animals are harmed. Boycotting Chinese goods, in my opinion, is not likely to improve the conditions of Chinese workers and may make them worse. That opinion, however, is certainly arguable because Chinese workers present a more complex dynamic than minks.

Thanks for the links. I'll check them out.
