Signs of a Bit-Cross Show in 64Mb/128Mb DRAM Prices
January 30, 2001 (SEOUL) -- The prices of 128Mb and 64Mb DRAMs are showing signs of a bit-cross.

Industry watchers said on Jan. 27 that the value of 64Mb PC-100 SDRAMs stood at US$2.74-2.90 per unit, and the price of PC-133 SDRAMs was US$2.84-3.01 per chip.

The value of PC-100 128Mb SDRAMs fell to US$5.60-5.94 per unit, and PC-133 chips to US$5.63-5.97.

The bit-cross factor emerged as the price of PC-133 128Mb SDRAMs fell below the combined value of two 64-megabit SDRAMs, industry watchers said.

However, as chip makers have already converted to 128Mb SDRAMs, the bit-cross holds no significant meaning, an industry watcher said.
