The only thing worse than Democratic "tax and spend" is Republican "cut taxes and spend".

Republicans love to do two-bit cuts in social programs, and offset those cuts with huge increases in military spending. For some reason Republican presidents are not intelligent enough to understand that a dollar spent is a dollar spent, whether it goes to welfare or Star Wars.

You are in denial about Reagan. His budget director warned him of the consequences of his budget, and he responded by "taking David Stockman to the woodshed."
