Everyone expects Mr. Ashcroft to be confirmed, but I am disappointed that Mr. Kennedy will not launch a filibuster. The Senate ignores the opinions of the American public when they make Mr. Ashcroft the next AG. I think that is a big mistake. The Democrats think they send a hard message to the President about next SC justices. In fact, I believe the message the Democrats send is: "we'll go along with the Christian right." As far as Mr. Aschroft supporters go, they would agree because what is important to them is that they get another solider in the government that will support Bush.
