Puck,

<< You really think GPRS's dominance will continue into the middle of the decade? >>

Yes. perhaps I am being overly conservative.

I would like to be proved wrong and see 3G3 CDMA dominant but I honestly do not think that will happen that quickly.

<< All of the 3G networks in Europe, Japan, and a some other parts of the world are scheduled to be fully operational by late 2002 or early 2003. >>

Some are pessimistic about that schedule. I am one.

This is brand new technology. I think some, I'd like to think many, will be fully operational, but just as we are seeing handset delays with GPRS, we will see them with "W-CDMA".

Fully Operational (networks), does not mean fully deployed, and the dates you are looking at for 3GSM/"W-CDMA" are very aggressive for even the commencement of wide scale general deployment.

I'd prefer to stay on the conservative side of this.

Now from an investment point of view, the good news is that we are going to see a lot of infra rolling out starting this year.
