The real market for this is not in the US, but overseas and especially in the third world, where there shouldn't have to be a two year delay to get it into the market place. This tester should be cheap to make in quantity! It's a couple of pieces of plastic, a strip of chemically treated paper, some filter material and some buffer. Just because the FDA takes forever to approve something, doesn't mean you can't be selling this tester over the counter in Asia and Africa. I hope CMTR takes a global stance at this, and partners up with somebody who can bang this into the third world in a short time frame. They need to get the World Health Org, and other UN agencies pushing for this thing to go quickly. What is really ludicrous is that it takes two years to test something like this, and do all of the paperwork. It seems that you should be able to crank out a few thousand kits, test them versus the current tests and have results in no time at all. But, the realities of the FDA will not permit this. And, in the US, they'll fight tooth and nail to keep this in the doctor's hands and not allow it over the counter because we are all too frail to be permitted to find out we have HIV without handholding. Of course, this probably keeps millions from ever getting tested in the first place, but to the FDA that's better than someone finding out on their own. Oh well. Watch this stock spike though. We need the mail in HIV test approval now to keep a rally alive!
Anybody heard any news on HPChek lately???? We need to see some revenue flowing so these guys have some marketing money to burn.
