First of all I have only been to this board once and I identified myself as one of the principals of DONTNEEDALAWYER.COM INC. I find it very troubling to see my name and my past and my company being kicked around by people that do not know what we do or have done. I am hear to clarify a few things and then leave. "Joey is the Vice President of Mr. Trademark not the CEO. The president is listed as Ms. Ellen Varner" This is true and public record. Ellen and I have been married for over 10 years. "Joe Strahl worked as a prison concessionaire in Illinois in the 1980's; before that he had a grocery store and a comedy club/tavern. " In the early 80's I opened my restaurant it was called "JR's Bar Association" not Joe's Restaurants as stated. It was next to a federal court house and was designed like the interior of a court room. It was very nice. It was host to a number of political VIP's including then VP Bush, numerous congressmen and then Senator Paul Simon from IL on many occasions. In regard to the comedy club...it was the same place except that I hired comedians on Thursday nights. I sold the restaurant when I was appointed by the Governor of Illinois to run the commissaries in the new prison in my hometown. I did that for 5 years and left to pursue other ventures. When I left the commissary it was grossing over 1.3 million. "In the mid-1990's Strahl got an idea to cater to his captive audience with a magazine called "Prison Life". It was published in New York and the first issue featured Charles Manson. Strahl managed to keep it going for about three years and just before it went bankrupt he sold to someone, and the rest is history at this point." This true to a point. I did create the magazine. It was a hit. I have been interviewed and been featured in over 50 newspapers and magazines including Newsweek, London Times, NY Times. I have been a guest on numerous radio and talk shows including Rivera. It was a cutting edge publication at its time. We ended up with a 3 picture deal with HBO documentaries. Maybe you have see one. Those documentaries inspired HBO from a treatment of ours for the HBO television show OZ. I sold out after editorial differences with my partners. It did not go bankrupt. My wife and I now own and operate Mr. Trademark Inc. and DONTNEEDALAWYER .com. We incorporate businesses and 20 other services that do not require a lawyer. Our relationship with PABN is a business one in which we were hired to perform trademark and incorporation services. I was approached by Bill Black to supply PABN with trademark data to support the new application that Mr. Black had developed. I will say we are in the process of doing the same for other large companies. So providing information is what we do. Nothing more and nothing less. I do not see much need to explain more. The only reason I am responding now is that you people seem obsessed with gathering information. I just want to correct the misinformation that has been posted about Mr. Trademark and myself. I love what we do and we have a very good time doing it. We travel all over the world and life is great! Which is more that I can say for some of you people. It amazes me that you have no life except this board and this PABN company. I do not know what will happen with PABN. I do not hold a position in the company or own any stock. They have been and hope will be a continued customer of ours. I am very proud of what my wife and I have accomplished in our lives. I have had the opportunity to create businesses and make money. I guess it is part of the game to have people try and tear you down on an anonymous board such as this. The one post says "good old boys". Well...I guess I am. Being from a small midwest town with a grandfather and father that were plumbers. Started in 1921 and still in business so I must have learned something. I came to NY and won. So there you have it. The whole nine yards. Some of you need to take a break or take a pill. I have read some of the past posts and it is frightening to think that you have reproduced in some fashion.
