Some observations: - By quickly comparing the FY 00 and the ann. Q4 column one can deduce whether Q4/00 was worse than the average 2000 quarter. EXLN and NEON are the only companies exhibiting this feature. The fact that NEON still achieved a 49% yoy growth rate and yet only costs half as much as EXLN (PSR-wise) shows that during the past month EXLN should have had all the dead cat bounce it deserves for now. - Microsoft's net margin is in a class of itself. Its absolute net income has passed IBM. - Many high growth rates are accompanied by high losses. A surprising candidate is VITR - 327% revenue growth while touching profitability. Yes, ARBA touted its profitability for Q1/FY 2001 but they have a decent loss to carry forward. - In 1999 four companies had less revenues than EXLN, incl. ARBA. Now EXLN is the smallest company in the list. - MSFT grew its business by $3.2 billion, about 350 times as much as EXLN ($9 million). |
