When you decide to dump a stock and move on, you move on. I still follow the thread but when the company doesn't perform the way you were expecting, the best thing is to sell it, take your lumps and then avoid it like a corpse.

One of the best lessons ever given to me was the first day of an investing class, the teacher pulled up a Wall Street Journal from twenty years earlier. He said, now read the names of the companies.....see any you recognize that are still in business? It was then that it dawned on me that the natural state of affairs in business was for a few companies to be very successful and for most to fade into obscurity.
