The reason that Dems feel Ashcroft won't enforce the law has to do with the lies he tells about other people. Someone who lies that much about other's actions is unlikely to be telling the truth about his own. Ashcroft cannot be trusted, he thinks he's on a mission from God and that any lie or deception that furthers his goals is the work of God and will be forgiven eventually.
