Dear willcousa: You are somehow misinformed on that issue. My wife is in charge of patient admissions at her hospital. You have NO IDEA how HARD it is to GET a needing patient in the Hospital and how hard it is to KEEP them in the hospital even if they need it. Medicare has STRICT criteria to enter and SPECIFIC time limits to stay. They are based upon AVERAGES and we all know no two humans are alike. Some heal much faster then others. More often then not Hospitals must discharge patients whom they KNOW to be in an unsafe condition. It is something my wife worries about constantly at home. JDN
