Let me help YOU. The buyer was not Reagan and Reagan did not hold title when the seller got paid. Reagan had to pay rent to the latest owner, and ultimately the full purchase price plus interest. This simply is not gift.. While not every owner is willing to collect rent and offer an option to buy, purchasing a home and doing so for Reagan simply does not constitute a gift. A favor, certainly. Never a gift.
