VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1997--
National Healthcare Manufacturing Corp. (NHMC) (NASDAQ:NHMCF,
VSE:NHM) reports record revenues of $3,136,831 for the nine-month
period ended March 31, 1997; a 535 percent increase over last year's
figure of $494,039.
This result represents the fifth consecutive quarter of
increased revenues. The company is confident that this trend will
continue as NHMC expands its sales and marketing in the United
States.

Technology Update

Management is anticipating installation of the third generation
robots in the Winnipeg plant within the next few weeks. With its
capability of 84,000 placement per hour in comparison to manual rate
of 250; each robot has a production capacity of in excess of 400
assembly-line jobs.
Installation of these robots will enhance NHMC's position in the
marketplace by allowing the company to become the most cost-effective
packager of custom kits and trays in the industry. The Winnipeg plant
is in the process of making necessary modifications to accommodate
installation of these robots. This state-of-the-art technology will
be introduced to the public shortly after the units are installed.

Management Appointments

NHMC also is pleased to announce additions/changes of the following
executives to its management team:

John R. Stone has been appointed as vice president of NHMC.
Stone will be responsible for marketing all NHMC's products
specifically the Mertex & Mertex surgical gowns in North America.
Stone has 25 years experience with health-care products marketing.
From 1991 to 1997 Stone held the position of director of marketing
of Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Medical Products.
Darrel Van Dyke has been appointed as vice president of NHMC, as
well as vice chairman of National Healthcare Logistics. Van Dyke
will be responsible for day-to-day operations of NHMC's Gam-Med
manufacturing facility which is located outside Chicago, and liaison
between National Healthcare Logistics and NHMC and its wholly owned
subsidiaries.
Van Dyke has 32 years of operational and management experience
in the medical industry with companies such as Johnson & Johnson,
Abbott Laboratories and Medline Industries. From 1994 to 1997 Van
Dyke was general manager of Huntington Laboratories, a division of
Ecolab Inc.
Richard J. Johnson has been appointed as vice president of
NHMC's subsidiary National Care Products (NCP). Johnson will be
responsible for day-to-day operations and sale and marketing of
NCP products in North America and Europe,
Johnson has in excess of 15 years of experience in manufacturing
and marketing of skin-care products. From 1992 to 1997 Johnson was
president of J.R. Phoenix Ltd., a manufacturer of skin-care products
for the industrial and health-care markets.
Bob Jackson and Seyed Torabian, both formerly vice presidents
of NHMC, have been appointed to the position of executive vice
presidents.

Incentive Stock Options

Subject to VSE approvals, NHMC is replacing and resetting
incentive stock options announced on April 23, 1997, to 32 of its
employees and the newly hired executives entitling them to purchase
up to 480,000 common shares of the company at the price of $6.13,
exercisable for a period of five years.
NHMC owns and operates the world's first and only automated
robotic production facility capable of assembling and packaging
various trays and kits for medical and surgical procedures. Use of
this proprietary technology enables NHMC to produce these medical
devices efficiently, cost effectively, quickly and accurately, thus
providing an edge over its competition which currently use manual
labor.
Also through its wholly owned subsidiaries, NHMC manufactures
and distributes NCP personal care products and anti-microbial
solutions to the health-care institutions in North America and
Europe.
