MeD-- I do not disagree with what you are saying at all. Actually there was a combination of things that caused some companies to be effected more or less than others or those in their sector-- rates was only one. The point is the exact same things would have come to light but would not have had the total negative impact on the overall economy. The 'soft landing' Al was looking for would have not been a concern or mentioned without the last 2 increases. There certainly was enough in effect then that did not have time to filter down. That fiasco of his is now over. A bigger concern is will he need to overshoot to get things on track again...
