Europe's days are numbered. If we are rapidly slowing, what will occur in socialism?

Here is a summary of recent comments I received from friends in Europe - both American expats and locals. It seems nothing ever changes over there:

- It is very difficult to get good IT talent - much more difficult than it is in the U.S. Even if you want to import talent (assuming you could get through the bureaucracy) no one wants to come. If you were an Indian programmer, for example, would you want to go to Germany, where racism is growing at an alarming rate, or the U.S.?

- You can't fire anyone, in fact, the more useless a person is the more likely your company is stuck with them forever.

- Making fun of the American way of doing business is more important than developing their own entrepreneurial culture.

- Government looks at the internet as a tool to extent their bureaucracy.

What higher returns elsewhere and in what risk class? Certainly not in Europe

Are you not making a case for continued strong investment in U.S. companies, despite the monetary and fiscal problems? Are we not the only game in town, at least in the new economy stocks?
