So is the death penalty, usually.

Who said I support the death penalty.

And you aren't appalled that pacifists have to pay for wars. You think that's fine.

I don't think it is fine but I see no way around it. I don't think our government should go looking for wars, but if someone attacks us, or out allies or vital interests I think we need to counter this attack. In any case I don't think pacifists even amount to a large significant minority so I am not being inconsistent with my previous statement. I suppose if 40% of the population were committed total pacifists then to be consistent I would have to oppose military spending. Of course police you violence too and I suppose they can't be funded either. Pretty soon you get either anarchy or foreign invasion. I don't think you can have a country based on pacifism. You can have a pretty peaceful country but total pacifism is just not a workable idea on the scale of a large nation. Government is at its core about force. It can not do anything without imposeing force on someone. Thats why I want government limited in general, but I think protect the lives and rights of its people is one of the things that can justify the necessary if unfortunate use of force.

Because what motivates you appears to be an entirely religious notion

How do you define religious notion? I'm not sure my opposition to abortion would fall under that category. Also can you explain why religious notions should be excluded but ideas based entirely on non religious philosophical
ideals should not?

that you feel quite comfortable forcing down the throats of others who don't share it

People who hold the opposing view seem quite comfortable forcing it down the throats of unborn children.
