--However, Sam Adams was in better shape and played harder this year than he ever did at Seattle, at least that is what I have read. Sometimes, a guy needs to be put out on the street to motivate him.--
and sometimes he needs to be put into a good program, instead of a bs, ego-driven one such as holmgren's.
look, holmgren got rid of daryl williams and replaced him with non-factor reggie tongue.
he gave ahman green away to green bay for a cornerback who never even played a down, then drafted alexander as a running back 'who would fit in with the system.'
holmgren gave away green, who has explosive potential every time he touches the ball. he then had to spend a 1st round pick on alexander, where that pick should have been on the defensive line.
the d-line was terrible this year.
yeah, people say adams underachieved while in seattle.
still, holmgren's reputation for personnel genius continues toward its own all time nadir.
he got rid of foley (something i mistakenly applauded at the time) and then huard ended up getting a really bad concussion. with huard in there so early, holmgren should have run - a lot more than he did. huard was making some great throws - and the receivers were dropping them.
so now holmgren's going to use another 1st round pick because huard is suspect due to that heavy concussion.
the seahawks would have been 9-7 if they had run the ball.
in any case it couldn't have gone any worse than it did, for the seahawks this year; and i blame holmgren for most, if not all of that.
watch kitna get dumped and end up being the 2nd coming of kurt warner, someplace else.
kitna was a better quarterback under erickson... it looks like holmgren browbeat him into being a non-factor.
