Ted do you realize over 50% of the BPA power generated off the Columbia goes to California?

That's insane in my book.. The power from the Columbia should only be for Washington and Oregon in my book.

Milo,

That's a different issue. I don't know if you know this...I just learned about it this month and I suspect it includes OR and the BPA....but in the winter, CA is supposed to ship energy to WA and in the summer, WA to CA. The theory behind this agreement is that WA's energy needs are greatest in the winter and CA's in the summer.

The other thing that's amazing is that at least twice, two different Californians have written letters to the Seattle Times, saying that we should stop worrying about the salmon and keep sending power to CA so they can stay warm. Talk about big ones! I am not saying we should foresake CA for the salmon but if I were a Californian, I wouldn't make it a major issue especially with our rates starting to go up; in fact, I would keep my mouth shut. Unbelievable!
