Regarding abortions, its one of the first things that he has taken on in the first weeks of his administration.

He has done nothing against abortion itself just against federal funding of abortions. He just reversed a decision that Clinton made. If the next president is a Democrat I would not be suprised if it gets reversed again very quickly. That doesn't make abortion a central them of any of them (Clinton, GW, or the hypothetical future Democrat).
Personally I wish abortion was a bigger issue for GW but he seems unwilling to really make a big deal about it. Then again to be fair to him he doesn't have the power to quickly do more then he has all ready done.

The second is separation of church and state. Pete seems to think its okay because it represents all religions. Separation of church and state means separation of church and state....any church and all churches.

The relevant Constitutional clause is about establishment of Religon. I don't see how that is violated. Bush is basically subcontracting some government welfare type work to religious orginizations, which in certain areas have been better at it then the government.

Bush is playing to a group of people who don't represent what this country is anymore.

What this country is, is devided on many issues. Bush is representing his side of the devide better then the other side. In this his is no different then any other modern president I can think of.
