So I take it you believe that AUDC will be able to maintain or increase their lead on TI/Telogy, INTC/Dialogic, BRCM/x, etc? This is what CheckPoint did, I was able to see that as a software guy. It looks to me like AUDC can do the same, but not being a chip guy I have to believe that those other companies must have some very talented engineers. I do understand that a lot of what AUDC does is really software realized in hardware, so maybe there are more similarities with CHKP than not.
On the Yahoo message board someone posted a recent interview with the CEO, from an Israeli paper (The Globes) translated into English. What he had to say was very encouraging and confidence-inspiring, a calm confidence without being complacent. He said that the biggest possible threat was not from competitors, but if a customer like Cisco decided to replace AUDC products with in-house design. I believe the probability of that is zero, and I am sure Adlersberg believes that too without coming out and explicitly saying it. CSCO always buys chips, network processors, and similar components from other suppliers.
