What's up with CNBC's highschool stock contests? Anyone notice lately that these kids that are winning are trading? They mentioned the average time they held a position was a couple weeks- the most recent one I saw. I can't say as I blame them in this environment, but this stuff does not teach the kids about "investing" nor does it instill "patience". So are we going to raise a generation of traders? Man, I can see Uncle Sam licking his chops when he sees stuff like that. FWIW, my 14 year old son is doing something similar to that in his school, but they are not allowed to sell their positions for I believe three months. Oh well, WTF cares anyhow, I'm just on a rant.
