OT RE: "What is a reliable organization to donate some money to?"

Hi Kushi,

If you work for Intel, donating via Intel would be the best way to go. If you work for Cisco, donating via Cisco would be best. Cisco is matching 2:1.

If you don't work for either company, I would suggest Red Cross (and write "India" on it) just because they seem to be major coordinators on this. They are also finally getting some portable hospital units and will be setting up the world's largest-ever portable hospital unit over there shortly.

For folks that don't have cash to donate, but may have extra clothes they could give, I would suggest either the Red Cross or ask Goodwill Industries (my sister works at Goodwill). Red Cross will take canned food too.

Regards,
Amy J
