COGNICASE Acquires a Leading Provider of Network Security
Management Solutions

COGNICASE Inc. (Nasdaq: "COGI"), a leading

real time transactional solutions, today announced the acquisition
of privately-held Maxon a leading provider of remotely managed
network security products and services. Maxon has offices in
Brossard, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario.
This acquisition extends COGNICASE's market position as a provider
of secure and scalable real-time transactional solutions to
provide network security solutions to protect mission critical
systems and corporate e-commerce applications.
Maxon and its RxSecure.Net suite of managed security products and
services will be integrated with the COGNICASE Watch4me security
management platform thereby strategically positioning COGNICASE to
capture the rapidly expanding Managed Security Services market,
expected to increase more than 1.3 billion US dollars in 2002,
according to analysts. By leveraging the existing Maxon security
infrastructure and its expertise for providing innovative remote
management of best-of-breed security solutions, COGNICASE will be
able to provide unmatched solutions for worry-free Security
Management.
