Has anyone played with their "DefaultRcvWindow" setting?

I read about this tweak, which is specifically for cable/dsl modems, in a
back issue of PC Magazine in my Mom's Dr.'s office and while
searching for more info I found the same tweak but for dialups w/ Win 95:

The only difference was in the value for DefaultRcvWindow, PC mag.
recommended 32767, the value recommended in the Win95 tweak in the link
is 2144.

I went ahead and followed the steps in the link:

Changing the RWIN. Click To See Screenshot: support.pinc.com
(From regedit)
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP\.
Select New from the Edit menu, then String Value, and type (I copied) DefaultRcvWindow -
(Note this is case sensitive!) for the name of the new value.
Double-click on the new value, and type in the desired number 2144*

*but substituted 32767 for 2144

After rebooting web pages definitely loaded faster! If you're also going to try this tweak
make sure to backup your registry first just in case. Easy way to backup registry:

Start>Run >type "scanregw" >enter
