Well I'm glad to see everyone has been beating this option thing to death!

Personally I like to see options. If done correctly: It encourages employees to perform. Which leads to company success if management has a good plan. Which leads to shareholders being happy.

I personally don't like dividends. Once a company starts to pay dividends I sell, no if ands or buts, I sell.

If I invested in a cyclical company like Boeing or GM then Dividends would be nice but I'd be taxed like mad and the kicker is that I would only hope for a double of my stock investment assuming that I "timed the market" correctly.( And that's over a 5-10 year average cycle)

There is a big difference between growth and value when it comes to investing.

The story at Disney is very telling when it comes to options. If Cisco tried to play that game I would be out in a heart beat!
