Is there no ideas about truth that some one could hold, that you would not try to prevent that person from acting on?

I've been sitting here for ten minutes trying to think of how to answer this question. I think what you're asking me is whether or not there's any idea that a "significant minority" of sane people could hold true that would be such an abomination and so insufferable that I'd go against my libertarian instincts and feel I had to intervene. The answer to that question is that I don't think so. People are entitled to their ideas, however abominable. You weren't talking about holding the idea but about taking action on it. The actions potentially to be taken on the most horrible ideas I can think of are all illegal. If I suspected people would act on them, I'd warn the cops. I'm sorry if that's not helpful to you.

I hate to bring the slavery analogy for a second or third time

Me, too. None of these historical examples is sufficiently parallel to inform our discussion.

Why don't you consider what the shoe feels like on the other foot. Try my example about requiring a permit to have a baby. Say that I were to gather a significant minority of people who were dedicated to implementing that. How would you feel? Would you think we had the right to impose that on you?
