NASD Volume reporting is about to change:

"Do not adjust your set. . . Here's an interesting factoid for those of you who keep score on the Nasdaq volume. Beginning today it will be a lower figure, even if activity is the same as in the past. That is because, as I understand it, dealers that are involved in "riskless trades" will not double-count the volume.

This bit of trivia is not a market-moving news item, but since many people of a technical persuasion look at volume, I thought it was important to pass along that these statistics are about to change. What percentage of which stocks will be impacted on this, we don't know yet. One of the dealers I spoke to said that they are trying to get a handle on that and would let me know when they did."
