Opportunity costs however are not tangible. In fact an investor buying any stock loses opportunity costs... and in fact Cisco optionee's also lose opportunity costs. So, I'm not sure you've made much headway with this argument. There are no losers in the stock market - just bad investors.... unless of course they got taken which does occur when market makers "play" a stock - or when analysts manipulate.
