He was being too kind. He did not take into account the fixed costs of the distribution centers if the non profitable lines of business were discontinued.

The recent announcement in the reduction of product lines is in my opinion due to the lack of cash to inventory them. The "hogwash" Amazon does not need cash seems not to be hogwash at all. Rather, Amazon cannot raise cash so let's liquidate inventory to raise cash. That is my opinion and take on it.
