Allen, The price is a math function of certain structure and the envelope shows the most likely continuation pattern of it based on a linearly priced index. Very interesting, however I strongly believe one should use logarithmic charts especially when we are talking about large moves in an index over a long period of time. I am sure that if this were done the conclusions would be different and far less optimistic! It would be interesting to see a comparison using logarithmic charts, as I believe they work better.
