Scumbria: I am encouraged that the majority of the poll think drilling isnt a good thing, notwithstanding the energy crisis.. Also encouraged that 40% of Republican voters oppose drilling .. thats a sizable minority. (a little over half of independents and close to 60% of Dem voters opposed it) Plus.... Bush needs Congressional approval (an Act Of Congress I believe its called) to open up a wildlife refuge.. and as the ASshcroft vote shows.. the Dems have the #'s to fillibuster.. never mind that a lot of moderate Republican congress members oppose it.. Also remember Bush needs to run any natural gas pipeline thru Canada.. not a certainty.. with apparently strong opposition to it by public opinion and by what certain government ministers have been saying. We (Canada) may end up having to save you from yourselves:)
