I've tried making this point before. The big issue is the magnitude of the royalties. The DRAM manufacturers believe that Rambus is seeking royalties way out of line with any contribution they may have made.

See that's where you are wrong. What you don't understand is that if you fail to pay the 1% or 3%, there is a 100% chance you can't sell the product. So, while you might think the royalties are too high, I think the royalties are actually quite low. It's all a matter of perception.
