Such erudition, masterfully articulated. I WILL e-mail you, but I want to address the tenuousness of your statment here. I firmly believe change in incrementally induced in small segment, which through synergy a big movement does happen. Look at this thread, individually we are at disparate locations connected ironically by a common thread that causes a lot of movement. Numerous people we have never met and unfortunately (except steve susko) may never meet, are being affected even as I write. But then even steve has things to add. (He likes to type monsyllabic garble against IOMG.)
One of my other jobs is that of a columnist. I write about being a dad, being human, having failings. There are no too columns exactly alike, but I'm amazed at the authenticity of the feeling, how complex and diverse they are. If you'd like, I can send you a few.
As you look at change, I think looking at much at what causes the movement, is to look at what we left behind, as I covered in one of my column older generations really loved "When TV replaced porches, America's entire life style changed." As we look toward our future, we must remember we are products of our past, and James Redfiedl touches on this again in his book "The Tenth Insight." Many times we let other people steal our energy, and when IOMG plummeted to 21.375, the energy level in my life was at all time IOMEGA low. But this thread pulled it up.
That's a form of interactive TV, it's the internet. I too apologize but taking up a bit of the threads space, but I wanted to reach out and touch you on the web, as you touched so many others.
Good luck with your book, and anyone who believes in IOMEGA gotta be in the groove.
Respectfully,
Archie |
