Sems to me that gold will only go up in a big way if Greenie's efforts to prevent a severe recession and a deeper bear market fail. As long as investors believe that Greenie and the Bushies can ultimately save the day, big money will not flee to gold. But if ever that faith is lost or severely tested, gold will astound on the upside.
