AdSociety, the first pan-Asian broadband advertising, marketing and sales network and a majority-owned joint venture of Pacific Century CyberWorks (NYSE : PCW) today announced that it has signed a strategic sales partnership agreement with L90 (NASDAQ: LNTY), a marketing, technology and media company that works with marketers and Web publishers to build valuable relationships with customers on the Internet. The sales partnership, which includes a comprehensive cross-selling agreement between the two companies, will increase both companies’ reach of advertisers and web publishers around the world.
This announcement follows AdSociety’s recently announced exclusive sales representation agreement with ETWebs, the leading broadband network in Taiwan, as well as with ThaiAdClick, the largest interactive marketing solutions provider in Thailand. Prior to partnering with L90, AdSociety had secured sales representation agreements with a number of major North American and European websites, including USAToday, AllAdvantage, Net2Phone, Boston.com, NYTimes, Stockhouse, Everyone.net, SiliconValley.com, AdventureTV.com and BroadbandExperience.com
Currently, AdSociety operates out of eight offices in Asia-Pacific, and L90 has eight offices operating across North America and Europe.
L90 has a network of over 350 premium Web sites that serves over 4 billion impressions each month. Under the new L90 partnership, the AdSociety network, launched in mid September last year now includes over 750 narrowband and broadband websites.
L90, headquartered in Los Angeles, California designs, develops and implements marketing campaigns that constantly reinforce a direct and interactive relationship between a brand and audience, providing value to both customers and marketers. ProfiTools, L90’s fully outsourced and 100% permission based data-driven marketing platform, offers its customers the ability to build targeted, high-value relationships with Internet users, thereby further monetizing their customer base. ProfiTools integrates adMonitor™, L90's proprietary serving, tracking and marketing technology with a global opt-in database and supportive sales and service team. By converting Internet users into loyal customers, L90 helps marketers drive value, build lasting relationships, and generate profit. L90’s publisher partners include Hollywood Stock Exchange, PBS, SEGA.com, and its list of advertisers include established brands such as Amazon, Dell, General Motors, Levi's, Mercedes Benz, Microsoft, Sony and VISA.
Patrick Jonathan Wong, Founder and CEO for AdSociety, said, "We have broken new ground in the ad networks industry by going global in less than six months after our launch. With our independent business model and rapid global roll out we are substantially growing our horizontal traffic, and continue to offer an unrivalled vertical capacity to match advertisers’ need within relevant markets. This alliance is a significant development for AdSociety, as our regional markets are increasingly being sought by North American and European advertisers. Equally important for us is our ability to provide our Asia-Pacific advertisers with a complete global online marketing and sales solutions."
L90's Executive Vice President of Advertising Sales Manager, Keith Kaplan said, "The broad reach provided by the specialized, high-quality sites of AdSociety's Asia-Pacific network gives L90’s growing advertising client base access to entirely new markets. We are excited by this new partnership as our clients increasingly see the tremendous potential of the Asia Pacific region."
According to a recent report by Forrester Research in January 2001, worldwide Internet advertising will grow from approximately US$8.3 billion in 2000 to approximately US$42.1 billion in 2005. Of this amount, Asia Pacific is expected to grow from approximately US$534 million in 2000 to approximately US$4.5 billion in 2005. In another report by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Internet advertising in Japan will exceed Radio advertising for the first time to over US$2 billion in 2002.
