Did the ease of starting a community bank prevent Citi and BofA from getting huge? No. Hell, imp, there have been kids running ISPs out of their closets for years now. Has that stopped AOL from getting 27 million profitable subs? The only thing wrong with ELNK is that they're spending way too much money on the wrong marketing strategy. This business, specifically its 4.7 million subs, can/should be a cash cow. It could be one on its own, but assimilated -er- merged into MSFT, it certainly would be.

$400 per sub, the price MSN and Compuserve have been paying (as an operating expense), is $20 per share. Add to that the value of the AOL cable access deal. $20 min, maybe much more.

Resistance is futile!
