1. Clinton will get between $100-$125k for a speech in Boca Raton for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter... Estimated CLinton can make $2M this year on speeches alone. I have no problem with that... 2. Clintons gotten 180k in gifts...(GHW Bush got 53k in gifts when he left...) Still no problem with that unless there were favors like pardons involved. 3. Jim, Compare the annual salary of the CEO for GE to the salary of the president of the US, then multiply the deficit by 8. We don't pay our president wages at all commensurate with the responsibilities/complexity/degree of difficulty that goes with the job. Forget that Clinton wields a mean cigar, he did a good job in AK and the many who reelected him in '96 think he did a good job as president. For all those years of public service, I hope he does real well financially. Besides he will need all that $$$ to pay off the attorneys that defended his name thru the Republican mounted attacks on his name. Read somewhere the following conclusion... "Dems want people to stop picking on Clinton" "They will when the Clintons stop picking our pockets"... First I am not a democrat, secondly go for it...its Clinton who is laughing all the way to the bank...he gets to make good $$$, keep his marriage and have a wife who is Senator. Those who laugh at him not only are smucks but stupid as well. Besides, did you see the special SNL after "Friends" last nite. There is so much material around dubya that we will be laughing for years. ted
